Suzanne Buirgy
Postponed to a fall date.

Suzanne Buirgy

Suzanne Buirgy has an impressive history as a performer. At 16 years of age, she performed in the long-running hit musical revue, “A 5-6-7-8.”

She then auditioned for and was accepted into the prestigious Los Angeles Civic Light Opera Musical Theater Workshop, and then went on to play the principal role of Edith in the first national touring company of The New York Shakespeare Festival’s The Pirates of Penzance alongside Pam Dawber, Andy Gibb, and Jim Belushi. Buirgy also wrote and performed in an original musical called The Story Goes, which played at the Tamarind Theater in Hollywood, CA.

Buirgy started writing songs at the tender age of 10. She performed extensively in Los Angeles clubs including The Troubadour, The Whiskey, At My Place, and Café Largo, first as a solo artist, then as a member of the all-girl band The Riveters, and finally as part of the duo, All She Wrote. Her career really took off after winning the prestigious “New Folk” award at the Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas. From there she went on to play well-known venues and festivals all across the United States. Buirgy has written, performed, and co-produced three albums as a solo artist. Most recently, she was thrilled to have a song placed in an episode of the second season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

Given her roots in musical theater and the wealth of experience she gathered as a touring singer-songwriter, it made sense that Buirgy would eventually bring her creative skills to filmmaking. For a number of years, she has juggled her music career with her role as a Producer at Dreamworks Animation. During her tenure there she has been an Associate Producer on How to Train Your Dragon, the Co-Producer on Kung Fu Panda 2, Producer on HOME, with Rihanna, Jim Parsons, and Steve Martin, and most recently, Producer of the movie Abominable, with Chloe Bennet, Eddie Izzard, and Sarah Paulson, which was released in September 2019. She is a member of the Producers Guild and was accepted into the Motion Picture Academy in 2019.

Looking ahead, Buirgy is very excited to have time to focus on her musical, Evidence, along with several other creative projects she has in the works. She is also really looking forward to playing her songs for audiences again.
